thick with the scent of cloves, vanilla, and lemongrass. This is a complete sensory

rawest form. Guided by local experts, you’ll learn how Zanzibar became a global spice
hub and discover the medicinal and cosmetic secrets of roots and barks. The highlight
for many is the “Butterfly Man,” a local climber who scales towering coconut palms while

After a flavorful traditional Swahili lunch at the farm, we head to the waterfront to board a
wooden dhow for Prison Island (Changuu Island). This scenic 30-minute boat ride offers

history book. You can wander through the atmospheric ruins of the 19th-century
quarantine station before meeting the island’s most famous residents: the Aldabra Giant
