Frequently asked questions

Can we buy spices directly from the farm?

Absolutely. Most spice farms have a small community shop where you can purchase fresh, organic spices, handmade perfumes, and soaps. It is a great way to support the local farmers and take a piece of Zanzibar home.

What should I bring for the island portion?

You should bring a swimsuit, a towel, and high-factor sunscreen. Since the boat ride can sometimes involve a bit of sea spray, a waterproof bag for your phone or camera is also recommended.

Are the giant tortoises dangerous? Not at all.

The Aldabra Giant Tortoises are incredibly docile and used to human interaction. Your guide will show you the best way to approach and feed them so that both you and the tortoises remain comfortable.

Is this tour suitable for people with limited mobility?

The spice farm involves walking on uneven dirt paths, and boarding the boat for Prison Island usually requires stepping into shallow water. While it is a moderate activity, please contact us in advance so we can make necessary arrangements.
